AI Principles
AI helps organise perspectives. The wisdom comes from people.
We don't believe AI should tell you who you are. We believe it can help you notice the stories that already exist — in the people who know you best.
AI helps organise perspectives
When your circle responds, AI helps weave what they've written into a Reflection Letter. It looks for the threads, the recurring warmth, the strengths people keep returning to. It does not invent qualities you don't have. Its job is to draw a careful line around what was already said.
AI is not here to tell you who you are
A Reflection Letter is an invitation to notice, not a verdict. AI cannot know you. Only the people who love you can — and even they see only their part of the picture.
AI does not replace professional advice
AI in Through Their Eyes should never diagnose a mental-health condition, predict outcomes, replace therapy, or replace legal or medical guidance. If something in a reflection stirs up more than reflection, please talk to a qualified person.
Your reflection is always yours
The words your circle shared belong to them. The letter woven from those words belongs to you. AI is a quiet assistant — never the author.
How AI actually works here
- We send responses to trusted AI providers only for the moment it takes to generate your letter.
- Providers are contractually barred from training their models on your data.
- Anonymous responses are kept anonymous — the AI never sees who wrote what.
- You can regenerate, edit, or delete your Reflection Letter at any time.
Our commitment
If our use of AI ever changes in a meaningful way, we'll tell you clearly — not bury it in an update log. The compass is simple: AI serves the reflection, not the other way around.
